Feminine Care with Dignity at Fyzabad Secondary School

Launching The Pod Box with Purpose in Rural Trinidad

In a powerful soft launch of our Pod Box initiative, Three Peas and a Pod had the honor of delivering 400 feminine care packages to students at Fyzabad Secondary School, located in a rural community in southern Trinidad. This outreach is part of our commitment to equity and dignity — ensuring that no student has to choose between basic hygiene and their education. Each Pod Box was thoughtfully prepared to include sanitary pads and other essential items, aiming to alleviate the challenges many young girls face when feminine products are scarce. We believe access to these supplies is not just a health issue — it's a human right.

This visit was made possible through the generous support of the Fyzabad Intermediate Past Pupils Alumni Association, and we offer special thanks to Cleve Osborne, a proud former student, for helping coordinate and champion this effort from the very beginning. The response from the school community has been overwhelmingly positive — and we are honored to share that we’ve been invited to return for an official dedication ceremony of the Pod Box program at Fyzabad.

This future event will mark the first formal placement of the Pod Box as an ongoing support system within a local school, creating a model we hope to replicate throughout the region.

We look forward to building lasting partnerships with schools like Fyzabad that recognize the power of small acts of care to create lasting change.

Delivering Colors of Comfort to Mount Hope Hospital

Bringing Joy to Pediatric Patients in Trinidad

Three Peas and a Pod had the heartfelt opportunity to visit the pediatric and emergency wards at Mount Hope Hospital in Trinidad. Opened in 1980, the hospital is one of the largest public medical facilities in the Caribbean and has long been a cornerstone of pediatric and maternal care in the region.

With the kind support of Nurse Downs and Nurse John, our team delivered 100 Colors of Comfort art kits to children receiving care. Each kit is filled with a new box of crayons, a child-friendly coloring book and a note of encouragement or stickers, was designed to offer emotional relief and moments of joy during their hospital stay.

This visit also held special meaning given Mount Hope’s connection to Wendy Fitzwilliam, Miss Universe 1998, who was born at the hospital and has become a symbol of grace, advocacy, and national pride. Her story is a reminder that even the smallest beginnings — like a coloring book in a hospital room — can spark something bright and lasting.
